The Story Behind The Story
I never planned to become a children's author.
I simply wanted a way to hold onto someone I loved.
My Nanna was one of the most special people in my life. She filled every room with warmth, laughter, music and kindness. She had a way of making people feel safe, valued and loved.When she passed away, I worried that one day the little memories might fade.The songs she sang.The way she made ordinary moments feel magical.The love she gave so freely.So I started writing.What began as a way to honour her memory slowly became something much bigger.Willa's Courage Saves The Day is inspired by the values my Nanna lived every day - courage, kindness, love and believing in yourself.
Writing this book was one of the bravest things I've ever done. There were moments I doubted myself. Moments I wondered whether anyone would ever read it.
But I kept going.
Because this story mattered.
Because she mattered.
And because I hope Willa helps children discover their own courage, one brave little step at a time.
